Burgundy School of Business launches Wine & Spirits program

The Burgundy School of Business launched the first international institution of its kind, offering a comprehensive program that focuses on the business of wines and spirits called the School of Wine & Spirits Business (SWSB) in Dijon, France.

The school will be offering four academic programmes, consist of ten dedicated professors and it will also have a specialised research centre, which will strive to be a best in class institution for professionals  and students focused on the drinks industry.

Jérôme Gallo, currently the director of the postgraduate programmes, will be the director of the newly launched school and Steve Charters will be heading the SWSB research centre. Charters is a qualified MW and recently joined the Burgundy School of Business after teaching at Reims Management School located in Champagne, France.

The Burgundy School of Business, which was founded in 1900 and is part of the Grandes Ecoles system of higher education in France , and with the new research centre, hopes to not only prepare students for opportunities in the wine and spirits industries, but also hopes to begin shaping the future of the industry through the sharing of its publications.

The school offers other wine focused programmes including an MSc in Wine Business, which started in 2009 and an MSc in Wine Management which began in 2012.

With the backdrop of Burgundy, the wine institute is able to provide incoming students with unparalleled access to one of the most sought after wine producing regions in the world.
