Vinopolis, Britain's biggest consumer wine tasting venue, is investing in a multi-million pound refurbishment.
The south London venue, is closing its wine tour from the end of this week, in order to complete an overhaul of the tour's internal layout, design and build.
The refurbishment will be carried out by creative design agency EMG.
Lucy Haines, Vinopolis managing director, said: "The Vinopolis Wine Tour has been running for over a decade and we've had millions of customers visit us and enjoy the experience over that time. However, it is time to modernise and cement our reputation as a destination for food and wine enthusiasts. The new experience will remain as an informal introduction to wine and spirit tasting but with interactive educational opportunities, modern technology and more links to food and wine matching principles.
The whole format for the tour space has been reviewed and we are increasing the level of engagement and expertise available which will not only complement the visitor experience but make it feel personal too."
The revamped Vinopolis will include a how to taste wine theatre, complete with full AV sound system; a new winery with interactive screens explaining the winemaking process alongside a geography area; tasting zones with Enomatic machines and a host of wine experts will be on hand.
While the refurbishment is being carried out, the on-site restaurants will stay open and masterclasses and events will continue as normal.
