Raft of new portfolio additions unveiled by top importers

Leading wine importers Alliance Wine, Hallgarten & Novum Wines and Graft Wine have all unveiled new additions to their portfolios.

Ayrshire’s Alliance has bolstered its French offer – with Champagne Lenoble and Burgundy’s Maison Albert Bichot joining the importer’s portfolio. Jean Wareing MW, head of buying at Alliance Wine said that the company has “been deliberate about identifying these partnerships that build depth in our French regions”.

Both signal an enhancement of its classic French appellation offer, a growing focus since Alliance’s acquisition of old world specialist H2Vin in September 2024.

Sales director Ned Llewellyn added that “re-establishing Champagne Lenoble in the UK is a real opportunity for our customers” while “consolidating Albert Bichot's distribution means the wider trade can finally get behind it”.

Italy is the focus for Hallgarten, Soave producer Inama and Abbruzzo’s Terre di Civita swelling the Italian ranks at the distributor. The former is a well-regarded producer which buying director at Hallgarten Will Winterton believes is “one of the most highly-regarded estates in Soave”.

He continued: “The ethos of the team at Inama matches our own, and we are excited to grow the UK market for premium Italian volcanic white wines alongside them, showcasing their range to all areas of the hospitality and retail sectors.”

Terre di Civita is a more boutique proposition, producing fewer than 8,000 bottles each year. Hallgarten said the choice to onboard the small estate was to “showcase the identity of Abruzzo and develop Terre di Civita’s presence in the UK restaurant scene”.

Single estate port producer Quinta do Infantado is Graft Wine’s newest addition. The partnership with the Cima Corgo estate followed Graft’s extended search for a fortified winery from the Douro.

“Our search for a port producer that reflects our values and commitment to quality has been a long one!” said David Knott, MD at Graft Wine.

“We feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to represent Quinta do Infantado exclusively in the UK. They are wines of immense purity made from exceptional vineyard sites. The wines show that you can make traditional styles of port with finesse and delicacy.”
