Nyetimber redesign aims to convert Champagne drinkers

Published:  27 April, 2012

Nyetimber has redesigned its packaging with the aim of inspiring Champagne drinkers to choose English sparkling wines over French.

New bottles for its Classic cuvee, blanc de blancs and rosé have thick foils, textured paper and embossed labels to convince the consumer about the brand's luxury credentials.

Nyetimber chief executive Eric Heerema, said: "This attention to detail is more akin to a luxury goods house than is normal in the drinks industry."

Alongside the new packaging, other accessories will be available including a gift box and ice buckets to support the launch.

Nyetimber is stocked in restaurants including, Hakkasan, Blueprint Café,
Pollen Street Social and HIX, and is on sale at Harvey Nichols, Fortnum & Mason
and Waitrose.

The 400-acres South Downs vineyard claims it is the first in England to grow only the traditional Champagne varieties : Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier.
