Moreno to distribute Rocca delle Macìe and Barceló wines

Moreno Wines is taking on the distribution of Chianti Classico producer Rocca delle Macìe and the wines from Grupo Barceló.

Moreno will distribute Rocca delle Macìe's in London and the south of England and Grupo Barceló throughout the UK.

Rocca delle Macìe, a family company founded in 1973 by former film producer Italo Zingarelli, is known for Chianti Classico and Supertuscan wines including Roccato and Sasyr. The estate is in Castellina in Chianti and has ovcr 200 hectares of vineyards.

Moreno has also finalised the agreement to distribute the Barceló Estates brands in the UK. Barceló has been making wines since 1876 and owns Bodega Cosme Palacio in Rioja; Bodega Vina Major which has holdings in Ribera del Duero, Rueda and Toro; and Stork's Tower of Castilla y Leon.

Abbi Moreno, marketing director, said: "The decision to add these wines to our portfolio reflects the intention of adding premium brands to our range, which is now stronger than ever before in representing a wide range of small independent wineries and also larger producers of quality wines."
