Radcliffe's Wines revamps website to offer food and wine 'experience'

Published:  15 December, 2011

Thierry's owned Radcliffe's Wines, has revamped its website in order to demystify wine by offering consumers a complete food and wine experience.

Rather than just offering a list of wines for sale it aims to give wine drinkers the confidence to try wines from regions they may be unfamiliar with which have been carefully selected by its experts as authentic, quality examples of the individual regions.

It includes hints, tips and recipes which have been specially created by individual chefs and restaurants.

The company will be working with further well-known names to continue building the online recipe library and a minimum order of a case of six, rather than twelve has been introduced to increase consumer flexibility.

Thierry's marketing manager, Becky Nichols, said: "People are always talking about the need to engage with consumers more but most online wine websites seem to presume that their customers already have a certain level of wine knowledge and present their content too technically for many people."

"We wanted to demystify wine in a simple yet engaging way for our customers by focusing firmly on the context of food and recipes to introduce meaningful information on our wines.

"Our website offers very practical hints and tips on enhancing people's love of food with our collection of Old World wines."
