Wine broker Copestick Murray has opened an office in Adelaide to oversee wine sourcing from Australia and New Zealand, and potential winery and vineyard purchases there.

The office will be headed up by Craig Thomas, former export manager for Australian Vintage.

Thomas has been appointed managing director for Copestick Murray Australia & New Zealand and will oversee sourcing from both countries for Copestick Murray's operations in UK, Europe, USA and Asia. He will also look for potential winery and vineyard acquisitions in both Australia and New Zealand.

Thomas said: "I am very excited to be working with Copestick Murray, not least due to their many routes to market all over the world. I feel there is a major gap in the market for both Australia and New Zealand wines and am looking forward to the challenge."

Robin Copestick, director of Copestick Murray said: "Craig brings with him great experience and this is a fantastically positive development for Copestick Murray. We have significant opportunities to establish an exciting and varied supply base in both Australia and New Zealand. To have Craig on the ground managing that process is exactly what we need," added Copestick.
