Manchester-based independent supplier, Kingsland Wines and Spirits is to invest in excess of £1 million at its Irlam based site.
The project will include a complete overhaul of the wine cellar including 42 new stainless steel tanks and will allow for best practice of wine storage, increased capacity & flexibility, and a reduction in waste & energy usage.
Work will take place during 2011 and represents the largest single investment since the management buyout in 2004.
Mark Dixon, manufacturing director, said: "It is important that we continue to invest in, and adopt best practice, and this investment demonstrates our commitment to doing this.
"We want to exceed our customers expectations in all areas of the business and we are very focused on ensuring we do this.
"Our new cellar will ensure we can maintain our flexibility and receive and handle our products efficiently for many years to come."
The activity will happen in two phases to minimise disruption to the customers with the aim of completing all work before the end of Oct 2011.
