Thierry's has appointed Jeneve Williams in the newly-created role of winemaker and quality manager to strengthen its team.
Williams will work closely with the two-strong buying team, Lindsay Talas and Dominique Vrigneau, as well as the national account managers.
Her appointment follows the departure of Paul Hankin, Thierry's technical manager, who is leaving to set up his own consultancy firm - Hankin will continue to support Thierry's and its producers as a quality control and technical consultant.
Lindsey Talas, Thierry's buying director, said the firm was "delighted" with the appointment.
She added: "Williams joins us with a wealth of experience which will help us to build on our absolute passion for quality, ensuring that our wines are the best in the market.
"We firmly believe that this new appointment will give us the edge over our competitors in terms of over-delivering quality at every price point. We are listening to our customers, raising the bar and boosting quality by using Jeneve's skills and expertise in order to get the very best out of our producers."
Williams added: "This is a very exciting move for me. I'm looking forward to collaborating with Thierry's customers and producers to ensure that we are delivering the right product in the right place at the right time. I'm also keen to identify future trends and shifts in the wine market to make sure that we're always one step ahead."
Williams previously worked as winemaker for Waverley TBS where she provided technical support in the selection and supply of wines. Prior to her time at Waverley, Williams was assistant winemaker at Pernod Ricard Pacific where she worked vintages in New Zealand and California.
