Veeno, the Italian wine café business, has revealed plans to nearly double its number of outlets from 15 to 27 this year.
The business, which has appointed Cedar Dean Commercial (CDC) to oversee its real estate strategy, said it was looking to expand its presence in “prime markets”, in particular London, with 12 new openings planned for 2018.
The ambitious expansion plans followed Veeno having “rapidly gained” a loyal following since it was founded in 2013 in Manchester, said co-founder and CEO, Nino Caruso.
The new outlets would primarily be franchised with some corporate openings too, he added.
“We are delighted by the response from our growing customer base for our unique brand and we have no doubt that our expansion plans will be an enormous success,” he said.
CDC had been appointed to help develop the business by identifying and acquiring new sites and would provide lease advice, rent review and business rate services for Veeno, he added.
Veeno, which serves wines produced in the Sicily family vineyard of Caruso - Caruso & Minini in Marsala alongside platters of authentic Spuntini (Italian meats and cheeses), said in September 2015 it was intending to open 80 sites across the UK by 2019 via a range of franchise and managed sites.
In October last year the business brought Italian Aperitivo to Greater London for the first time with the opening of its site in Kingston-upon-Thames, while it opened its first Brighton site last week.
