A round of golf with Oz Clarke and the chance to hire the WSET's Ian Harris as a butler for the night are just some of the 75 lots available at The Benevolent's inaugural online silent auction.
The charity which helps to support those working in the trade in times of need is preparing to launch its first Thanks for Giving online auction next week and is urging the industry to help raise its profile.
Ahead of its launch on November 24, the auction has been given a kickstart from fine wine suppliers, Farr Vintners, which have donated the substantial sum of £10,000.
Among the lots on offer are Royal Opera House tickets to see Madama Butterfly, VIP hospitality tickets to Stamford Bridge for Chelsea Vs Hull City FC or a three-day trip for two people to visit where Budweiser Budvar is brewed in Southern Bohemia.
Recognisable faces from the trade are dedicatating some of their busy schedules in support of the fundraiser, including Ian Harris, chief executive of the Wine and Spirit Education Trust who has agreed to act as a butler for a private dinner party.
Bidders could also win the chance to play a four-ball round of golf with wine writers Oz Clarke and Tim Atkin MW.
"I urge everyone to take a look at this auction site straight away and start bidding on Thanksgiving Day," David Cox, chief executive of The Benevolent said.
"You may get an incredible bargain with some extremely rare and collectible lots. On a personal note, I am very proud to announce that my late twin brother, Michael Cox's widow, Lynne has generously donated a very rare bottle of Cognac from Michael's cellar. And what a terrific kick-start donation from Farr Vintners. We are truly thankful."
Everyone is welcome to bid in the auction, and The Benevolent is encouraging its supporters to promote the initiative and spread the word among friends, private clients, suppliers and relevant contacts.
Funds raised will go towards helping vulnerable members of the trade who are currently working, or have worked, in the UK drinks industry and find themselves in need.
The Benevolent's Thanks for Giving online auction will start at 9am on Thursday, November 24 (Thanksgiving Day).
