Alliance Wine launches first English bubbles

Published:  04 August, 2016

Alliance Wine has launched their first English sparking wine, Truslers Hill Pinot Noir Rosé 2014.

Alliance Wine has launched their first English sparking wine, Truslers Hill Pinot Noir Rosé 2014.

The wine has been made exclusively for the medium sized supplier by Alison Nightingale of Albourne Estate in Sussex, which is rapidly growing to become one of England's premier still wine producers.

Made from 100% Pinot Noir, the company said the estate's vines are Burgundian clones that give a "fine purity and delicacy of fruit".

Nightingale said: "I had toyed with the idea of releasing it with no dosage because the fruit quality is so fine but we succumbed to including a low level of added sweetness."

This sparkling joins the Albourne Estate's Bacchus and white Pinot Noir in the Alliance Wine line-up.

English sparkling wine's pulling power has seen rapid growth in recent years.

Yesterday, online fine wine trading paltform Liv-ex announced that a case of 12x75cl Nyetimber, Classic Cuvee, 2010, was to be traded on the exchange - a first for an English sparkling wine

Albourne Estate's debut white wine range was from the 2013 vintage and has since gone on to garner attention and awards.

Nightingale grows all her own grapes on south facing slopes of free draining sandstone soil in Sussex and all production happens on site.

Pinot Noir Rose, Truslers Hill 2014, has an ABV 11.5% and RRPs for £25.
