Kuvée is a bottling and dispensing system, so customers purchase the 'bottle' which has touchscreen on it as well as the canisters of wine that are used in the dispensing system. Once a canister of wine is inserted into the 'bottle' or dispensing device, the display touch screen on the bottle tells the user what they are drinking. By scrolling though the touchscreen on the bottle, users can also see how many glasses are still left in the canister, shows the story of the wine and let's drinkers rate the wine as well.

The bottle is set to be WiFi connected so users can also purchase more wines when needed.

Currently the wines available currently are only from California producers including famed winemaker Boon Doon, Schug, Round Pond, Girard and Pine Ridge Vineyards.

The first batch of bottles is set to ship in October 2016 and will only be available in the US for now, but it is indicated that they look to bring the device abroad but have not yet indicated when.

At the time of the first shipment the company said it will have 48 different wines available for purchase.

Currently the crowdfunding offering allows for different funding options starting at US$179 for the delivery of the device along with four canisters of wines from the 'Founder's Selection'.

The device may be popular for at home consumers when compared to the Coravin as Kuvée is a currently a cheaper alternative and there is no need to buy additional cartridges for its use.  However, the wine selection is limited only to producers that Kuvée has partnered with to date.

Kuvée is founded by entrepreneur Vijay Manwani.
