Legacy Wines, the on-trade division of Manchester-based Kingsland Wines & Spirits, has extended its portfolio to introduce its latest brand, Wonder Wines.
Wonder Wines will act as an umbrella brand, with the first offering being a range of mid-tier wines from South Eastern Australia, with a 1950s retro vibe called the Board Meeting, which pays homage to the 1950s surfing boom.
The initial range consists of a Chardonnay, Shiraz and Cabernet Rosé (rrp £6.99), and the "quirky, retro label" aims to target the younger consumer by providing shelf stand-out within the Australian wine section.
A VW campervan with the Board Meeting branding will be taken to various events in 2012 to offer consumer sampling.
Laura Delooze, marketing manager, said: "The brand is fun and individual but still maintains a premium feel that supports the quality of the wine.
"The branded campervan will enable us to engage directly with consumers and allow them to taste through our entire new Legacy range; helping to realise our aim of injecting excitement back into the wine category with modern, innovative and quality driven brands."
Legacy plans to launch further ranges later on in the year.
