Tesco has closed the registration site for meetings with its BWS buyers at the London International Wine Fair following high levels of demand.
The retail giant announced the invitation last week in an effort to "break down barriers" and make it easy for suppliers to meet with its buying team. All the meeting slots have now been filled.
Tesco's head of BWS Dan Jago said: "We are looking forward to tasting new wines, seeing some potential category innovations and hearing from visitors who would like some time for discussion with members of the wine team."
"This is the first time Tesco, or any multiple retailer, has taken a stand at the LIWF and we hope that by opening the opportunity for meetings in this way, it will prove to be the best possible use of our time."
