London merchant Planet of the Grapes is opening a second wine bar.
London merchant Planet of the Grapes is opening a second wine bar.
The company is preparing a site at the bottom of Bow Lane in between Cannon Street and St Paul's.
It already operates a bar in Bulls Head Passage, Leadenhall Market, and a shop in New Oxford Street, Holborn.
The current bar has a list of around 450 wines and charges a flat corkage fee of £10 a bottle for any wine consumed on the premises.
The business, which is run by Matt Harris and Marc Wiseman, is holding its annual tastings at the Holborn branch next month. Highlights include a showcase of wines from Tahbilk Estate from Victoria, Australia; an Aussie Icon night; and a selection of wines from Domaine Faiveley in Burgundy.
