FMV grows Chilean portfolio with De Martino

Published:  01 October, 2018

Fields, Morris & Verdin (FMV) has expanded its Chilean menu with the addition of family-owned producer De Martino.

Available from FMV now, De Martino’s range of wines spans from Limarí in the north to Itata in the south, with the winery working sustainably across all their vineyards in addition to using organic practices for their Itata and single vineyard wines.

The latest addition to FMV, the in-house UK trading arm of Berry Bros & Rudd, formed part of the company’s strategy to focus on family-owned wineries, said wine buyer for South America, Catriona Felstead MW.

“De Martino is managed by brothers Sebastian and Marco De Martino who share an ongoing focus in creating wines which represent the family and their origin in the purest way possible. This philosophy matches well with the family-focused values shared by Berry Bros & Rudd,” she said.

With the winemaking produced under winemaker Marcelo Retamal, De Martino had over the past decade transformed into “arguably Chile’s most progressive and dynamic producer”, she added.

The De Martino family arrived in Chile from Italy in 1934 and settled in Isla de Maipo.
