Halewood Wines & Spirits has signed a deal as the exclusive distributor of premium Russian vodka brand Beluga in the UK and Republic of Ireland.
The deal, which takes place from 1 July, will see Halewood take over distribution of the vodka collection, which includes Beluga Noble, Transatlantic, Allure, Gold Line and Hunting variants, across both the on and off-trade.
Taking over from current distributor Cellar Trends, Halewood said in addition to the “additional routes to market” Beluga would also benefit from additional marketing and promotional support as part of the new deal.
“Beluga has built a worldwide reputation for producing high quality vodka and for that reason it’s an excellent extension of Halewood’s existing range of innovative and artisanal spirits. We see tremendous opportunity to take the brand on to even greater success,” said Halewood group CEO Stewart Hainsworth.
Thanks to Halewood’s “superb marketing and distribution expertise”, the company had build a proven track record for “taking brilliant brands further”, said Sergey Mikhaylov, export manager for Western Europe, Beluga Group
“We’re confident the business can deliver significant growth for us in the UK, which remains one of the world’s largest luxury vodka markets,” he added.
Beluga, which hails from Siberia, will join Halewood’s current handcrafted premium vodka portfolio, including J.J. Whitley Potato and Rhubarb Vodkas, Whitley Neill Blood Orange and Rye Vodkas, Liverpool Vodka and Glasgow Distillery’s G52 Urban Craft Vodka, on shelf.
The deal forms part of Halewood’s renewed vision, revealed in May this year, to become an international specialist in artisanal spirits and craft beers.
