New Hayman's gin aimed at cocktail bar market

Published:  18 January, 2007

Hayman Distillers has launched a new gin aimed at the cocktail bar market: Hayman's Old Tom.

Developed by chairman Christopher Hayman, whose great-grandfather created Beefeater gin, Hayman's Old Tom is based on an 18th-century recipe, and, says the company, "recreates the lightly sweetened style of gin that was particularly popular at the time".

Marketing director James Hayman says: "Old Tom gin is an old but not forgotten classic - the missing link between genever and London dry gin.

"We realised there was a demand for a recreation of the Old Tom style. Old Tom is drier in style than Hayman's 1820 Gin Liqueur, and the bottle is longer and thinner to aid bar handling."

The product will be distributed in the UK by Tropical Limited (07764 844055; email costas@tropical-ltd.com). Click here for the Old Tom website.
