Amathus opens fourth London store in Shoreditch

Drinks distributor and retailer Amathus is opening a fourth London store, this time in Shoreditch, after buying the City Beverage Company business.

The new site, at 303 Old Street in Hoxton, adds to the group's other branches in Soho, the City and Knightsbridge. The group's Knightsbridge shop opened back in July.

The new shop will stock a range  of wine, Champagne, spirits and craft beers, as well as a "carefully selected range of niche drinks that are exclusive to Shoreditch".

Amathus is expanding the retail side of the business with the opening of its third London store in Knightsbridge.

Amathus stocks a range of exclusively imported wines from around the globe, including Stellenbosch's Idiom Collection, Oregon's Elk Cove Vineyards alongside new additions from Australia - McLaren Vale's Woodstock and Barossa Valley's Maverick.

It lists around 1,800 spirits, 400 of which are exclusively imported by Amathus, including Old Rip Van Winkle's bourbon, Casa Centinela Tequila, Château de Laubade distillery, and renowned mezcal range Del Maguey as well as a unique spirit made with Ibérico de Bellota ham.

Wine and spirit tasting sessions and masterclasses will also be held at the new store, which will be open seven days a week, with a click and collect service and free local delivery available.

Amathus was set up in 1978, and alongside acting as a national drinks distributor, it is also an importer and specialist retailer. Aside from its four London stores, it also has an online shop.
