Whisky Show 2013 looks to extreme food pairings

Published:  20 August, 2013

Extreme food pairings and sonic tastings are on the cards for this year's Whisky Exchange Whisky Show.

The event takes place on October 5 and 6 at Vinopolis, and visitors will be able to sample dozens of whiskies including "Dream Drams" - rare and expensive whiskies ranging from £500-£3,000 a bottle.

Whisky writer and culinary expert Martine Nouet is to present whisky and extreme food pairings, using produce from Borough Market.

She said: "I will also run a special class demonstrating the art of pairing whisky and food throughout the four seasons."

Whisky events company Simply Whisky will present a Whisky Wonder World, with a variety of attractions including a roulette-style game where you could win a dram and a whisky vaporiser.

Sunday's line-up also includes chef demonstrations with Geoffrey Smeddle, the head chef at the Peat Inn, Fife, and a whisky seminar with expert Dave Broom.
