ODDBINS IS NOT FOR SALE

According to spokeswoman Karen Sutton, Oddbins is definitely not for sale. On 12 February The Sun announced on its City page that the specialist off-licence chain had been put up for sale by its relatively new French owners, Castel Frres. Pierre Castel, the owner of The Castel Group, has confirmed that he is very happy with Castel's investment in Oddbins. We have just had our final results through for Christmas 2002 and they confirm the most profitable Christmas ever. We are extremely optimistic about the future and are totally committed to driving the business forward under Castel ownership.'
