Maxxium owned Courvoisier, is launching the UK's first ever official punch competition at London Cocktail Week.
The campaign which also includes a number of free events, comes on the back its Summer of Punch campaign.
It will see drinks historian Gary Regan host The Courvoisier Spirit of Punch Seminar, taking guests on a historical journey of brandy as a mixable spirit which will cover brandy's influence on punch and some of the world's first ever cocktails.
The Courvoisier Spirit of Punch Competition which follows the seminar will see six teams of two bartenders from across the UK competing to win the title, 2010 Punch Master.
The finalists will present their recipes to a panel of leading industry representatives and be judged on five key elements - taste, presentation, creative vessel, revolutionary ingredients and historical reference.
The winning pair will win a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Tales of the Cocktail in New Orleans.
Maxxium UK's marketing manager for Courvoisier, Janice McIntosh says: " London Cocktail Week offers a fantastic opportunity to demonstrate how versatile cognac is - a strategy that is helping to bring new consumers into the cognac category.
