Laphroaig to host online interactive tasting

Published:  21 September, 2010

Laphroaig will host its fourth annual interactive tasting later this week, live from the sherry bodegas of Jerez.

Kicking off at 7pm UK time on Thursday September 23, it will run for 40 minutes and viewers can post live questions to the panel throughout.

The tasting will include Quarter Cask, Triple Wood, 25 Year Old and a special Oloroso matured Laphroaig, created exclusively for Laphroaig Live. It will be hosted by Laphroaig distillery manager John Campbell, Laphroaig brand ambassador, Simon Brooking, singer songwriter and Friend of Laphroaig, Diego Sandrin, and general manager of Harveys Bristol Cream, Jose Antonio Souto.

Maxxium UK's marketing manager for Laphroaig, Bob Dalrymple, said: "Laphroaig is the UK's number one Islay malt, with an incredibly loyal following of more than 400,000 Friends of Laphroaig worldwide, including over 126,000 in the UK alone. Our interactive tastings offer fans a fantastic opportunity to be directly involved with Laphroaig and experience the brand with the expert guidance of John Campbell."

Last year over 20,000 viewers participated in the live tasting from over 79 countries. Any malt enthusiast wishing to participate can log on to http://live.laphroaig.tv
