Justerini & Brooks launches wine broking service for all

Published:  27 May, 2010

Justerini & Brooks is looking to open up the wine investment market to anyone regardless if they know anything about fine wine with its new wine broking website, www.justerinis.com.

The site enables users to build up their own wine portfolio online and has been designed to allow anyone whatever their background to trade in the world's finest wines.

Nick Hyde, J&B's managing director, said: "Returns (on fine wine) have jumped by almost 15% per cent in the last year alone. Combined with low returns from
alternative investments, falling interest rates and the bonus of being excluded from capital gains tax, wine has become an increasingly popular investment vehicle - which everyone should have access to.

"For some unknown reason, building a cellar for investment purposes has often been seen as out of reach for many people, either because they don't know how to go about it or are intimidated by buying and selling quality vintages. We're delighted that, by creating our new website, many more people will be able to invest in a wine portfolio and experience the enormous pleasure this can bring."

The site includes full details on all wines listed including the guide price, notes on the winemaker and vintage and even an interactive map of the region. Each user is supported by an online cellar expert from the J&B broking team. The specialists will be able to offer advice on sales and purchases and provide regular updates on the wine market, which it hopes will attract investors with no knowledge of the wine market to build up their own investment portfolio.

Chadwick Delaney, J&B sales director said: "Whether you want to invest in huge quantities of fine wines for the next generation, or simply
purchase one or two cases, the new website has made it easy to do. Building up a wine portfolio should no longer be considered a preserve of the wealthy."
