Full complement Rhne tasting
The appellations of Chteauneuf-du-Pape, Beaumes-de-Venise, Rasteau and Gigondas, none of which participated in the first, successful staging of the Dcouvertes en Valle du Rhne, in 2001, have signed up for the 2003 version of the week-long mobile tasting' extravaganza. Emmanuel Drion, dlgu gnral at InterRhne in Avignon, told Harpers that all 20 Rhne appellations will now be represented. The event will be held from 8-14 March 2003 and will be a trade-only event. The Dcouvertes tastings will again be run as a series of individual events, each of which will focus on a given appellation within its sub-region of origin. The first Dcouvertes attracted 10,000 visitors and 575 exhibitors. Next year, 750 growers and ngociants will present wines stretching from Cte Rtie in the north to Costires de Nmes in the south.
