Armit and Virgin departures

Published:  23 July, 2008

Sarah Marsh is leaving John Armit Wines and Lee Middleton is quitting Virgin Wines. Marsh, Armit's New World buyer, is leaving to pursue a career as a consultant wine buyer (Old and New World) and continue her Master of Wine studies. Amanda Skinner, MD of Armit, said: We are sorry to see Sarah leave, but she is very ambitious. With the New World portfolio nearing completion, Sarah needs new challenges. She is an outstanding buyer with an exceptional nose for finding new wines in the most unlikely places, and all of us at Armit wish her every success.' Middleton, one of the founders of Virgin Wines and formerly at Adnams and Haughton, is setting up Alchemy Wines, along with David Rowledge (ex-Walter Siegel and Adnams) and Mark Goundrey, son of Michael Goundrey.
