The new building, let from Frogmore Property Company, is to be designed by architects Allies and Morrison with the interiors by Conran & Partners. The development is anticipated to commence in 2010 with a view to opening in 2012.
Features will include a bar and grill on the ground floor and seventh floor rooftop restaurant and bar with outdoor terrace overlooking the City skyline. Extensive space will be available for meetings, private dining and events.
"I am very confident that we can make a success of it", said Des Gunewardena, D&D London chairman and chief executive. "This will be D&D's first hotel. I think it's a gem of a site."
