Cocktail push for Licor 43

Published:  06 August, 2009

The Spanish liqueur brand Licor 43 is embarking on an on-trade push in the UK market with a cocktail booklet featuring the drink in 43 recipes.

The booklet includes creations such as the Epernay Appasionata by Tom Sneesby of Manchester's Socio-Rehab, and the Maracuja 43 by Frederick Olson of Kosmopol in London.

There is a foreword by Karen Fowler, brand manager at distributor J Wray & Nephew, featuring background and history of the brand.

"This is an exciting development for the brand in the UK," says Fowler. "Licor 43 gives bartenders infinite opportunities to create unparalleled mixes that can be adapted to suit any consumer and their individual tastes."

Licor 43 has a sweet citrus-vanilla flavour and can be served neat, with mixers or in coffee.

"Like such industry stalwarts as Grand Marnier and Drambuie, this brand has a massive pedigree," Fowler added.

"The brand is a favourite for many top mixologists simply because it is not confined to a type of drink or a time of year."

Licor 43 is bottled at 31% abv and claims to be Spain's best-selling liqueur brand.
