Corney & Barrow has been appointed exclusive UK agent for Coule de Serrant, the famous Savennires estate run by biodynamic guru Nicolas Joly, whose family own the seven-hectare sub-appellation of Coule de Serrant in its entirety. Laura Taylor, C&B's PR manager, told Harpers that, in accordance with Joly's wishes, C&B will give priority to private customers, with small quantities distributed to the serious on-trade'. The first releases will be the 1996 and 1999, of which there are 20 and 150 six-bottle cases respectively. Adam Brett-Smith, C&B's managing director, said: These are brilliant wines; real jewels that fit beautifully into our range of specialist, individual domaines. Nicolas Joly has kindly agreed to host a seminar in November on the domaine and the biodynamic philosophy employed at Coule de Serrant. We suspect this will be a sellout.' Coule de Serrant is the third estate from the underrated appellation to be listed by C&B, which added another high-profile French estate, Bonneau du Martray in Burgundy, to its portfolio last year.
