Napa Valley Vintners has elected Paula Kornell as its new president of the board of directors.
Kornell, general manager of Oakville Ranch Winery, takes over from previous president Pat Stotesbery of Ladera Vineyards.
She takes the reins in the 65th anniversary year of the NVV, and is the first ever daughter of a previous president to take the top job. Her father, Hanns Kornell, was president of the NVV 45 years ago.
Kornell said: "In those days they were more of an eating and drinking group, but even then they recognised the importance and strength of working together to promote not only their individual brands but also the Napa Valley as a whole."
The non profit making group now focuses on promoting Napa Valley wines in the US and internationally. It has around350 member wineries.
