Hotel du Vin gets green light for £10million new venture in St Andrews, Scotland.
Councillors have given the boutique hotel chain the go ahead to convert and extend the existing Golf Hotel.
The chain, which runs Glasgow's acclaimed One Devonshire Gardens, has pledged to retain Ma Bell's bar, made famous by Prince William's regular visits when he studied at St Andrews.
The number of rooms will rise from 22 to 40 and new features will include a new bistro-restaurant, a whisky sampling room and a wine-tasting room.
The venture, which is expected to take up to a year to complete, will provide up to 30 extra jobs in St Andrews
