The Campari Group and Morrison Bowmore Distillers (MBD) have launched a joint-venture company, which will be responsible for the sales and marketing of their combined portfolio within the UK domestic market. On 5 May, Campari transfers from First Drinks Brands and MBD will be leaving Allied Domecq Wines & Spirits. From then, four brands - Bowmore Islay Single Malt, Cinzano Vermouth, Campari and Midori - will provide a portfolio of core brands for the new JV. Skyy Vodka and Auchentoshan Lowland Single Malt will be classed as promise' brands. Steve Webb, former sales and marketing director (UK) for MBD, has been appointed managing director of the new company. Both companies wanted to extend their UK coverage and maintain focus,' he said. It made sense to look at a major initiative that sealed our corporate relationship and gave us the confidence to invest for the long-term.' Details of the JV will follow, but all services will be purchased under contract from MBD. All orders should therefore be placed with MBD in the normal way, by telephoning 0141 630 4756/4758. The UK sales and marketing team is relocating to Stirling and is looking to fill a number of new sales and marketing roles. Enzo Casati, regional director of The Campari Group, said: The opportunity to take greater control of our distribution was too great to miss.'
