Vranken-Pommery's champagne revenue up 7.3%

International champagne house Vranken-Pommery Monopole's saw double digit growth for its leading brands in 2007 with revenue from champagne up 7.3%.

Revenue from the company's total champagne portfolio rose to 265.5 million (208.3m), while the big international brands - Vranken, Pommery Charles Lafitte and Heidsieck & Co. Monopole - reported an 11.1% increase in revenue.

Chief executive Paul-Franois Vranken said: "2007 confirmed Vranken-Pommery Monopole's ability to improve margins as well as sales of its leading international brands, which enjoyed double-digit growth,"

"Given current worldwide champagne consumption and the likelihood that it will continue to increase over the medium term, we are committed to pursuing our growth strategy in 2008."

Total group revenue for 2007 was up 6.9% up on the previous year's figures.
