Hardy Wine Company looks to stars with name change

Published:  23 July, 2008

The Hardy Wine Company has announced it new trading name will become Constellation Wines Australia.

Effective from March 31 2008, company president John Grant said the name change marked a renewed focus on premium products moving into the new year.

He stated: "This is a pivotal time for our company as we embark on a range of activities to move our company to higher ground."

"Changing our company name provides greater freedom to shine the spotlight on the real heroes of our business - the outstanding regional wines.

"In particular, it allows the Hardy's brand to return to being a winery, known for quality and craftsmanship, rather than being known as a corporation."

The current portfolio included iconic wines such as Thomas Hardy, Eileen Hardy, Arras by Bay of Fires, Houghton Jack Mann and Leasingham Classic Clare, Grant added.
