Graz, Austria will be the home of the World Sauvignon Congress 2008.
The event takes place from August 26 to August 29 with a collection of scientists and professionals convening to discuss the Sauvignon Blanc grape variety.
Speakers include:
Mike Trought from the Marlborough Wine Research Centre on the influence of soil and climate.
Richard Smart, Australia, on improving quality through viticulture methods
Laurent Audeguin, France, on the development of aroma
Johann Seitinger, the Styrian chief agricultural officer and initiator of the congress, said: "Sauvignon Blanc is one of the most fascinating grape varieties in the world and reflects the climatic and geographical conditions and the personal decisions of the winemaker to a great extent."
