Bill Newlands is to leave Constellation Brands to rejoin Beam Global Spirits & Wine in a newly-created role.
He will assume the position of senior vice president of US commercial development on February 1 2008 after completing his existing commitments to Constellation.
Newlands, who has previously worked at the company as the president of Beam Wine Estates, will serve on the firm's executive committee.
Tom Flocco, Beam Global Spirits & Wine CEO, said: "[His] experience leading Beam Wine Estates and his savvy commercial and organisational skills will help us further enhance our competitive position in the US, by focussing on US market commercial activation, sales and distributor management."
Newlands worked at Beam Wine Estates from July 2005 after Beam Global's expansion from Allied Domecq - Constellation bought the brand in December 2007.
Last month Beam announced the sale of its US distribution rights for The Dalmore Scotch Whisky brand to the UB Group for $58 million (29.2m).
