Argiano appoints new UK distributor

Published:  23 July, 2008

Thorman Hunt has been appointed as the new UK distributor for Argiano.

The southerly-facing Argiano estate is set on 48 hectares south-west of Montalcino and produces the Brunello di Montalcino label among others.

Stphane Schaeffer, Argiano's commercial director, commented: "I chose Thorman Hunt because I was seduced by their project of building up a whole portfolio of Italian wines, and our paths crossed at the right time."

Having Thorman Hunt's Italian wine buyer, Alastair Llewellyn-Smith, on board to handle sales was another convincing factor, he added.

Thorman Hunt will import a number of wines from Argiano including; 2003 Brunello di Montalcino; 2006 Rosso di Montalcino; 2004 Solengo IGT Rosso and the 2005 Non Confunditur.

Llewellyn-Smith concluded Thorman Hunt was looking forward to having Argiano on its books and building on the work of its previous agent.
