Tesco open for business in the United States

US: Tesco has opened its first US convenience store, Fresh & Easy, in Hemet, 75 miles east of Los Angeles, ahead of its official launch on Thursday.
Innovations include a "kitchen table" where staff will heat up pre-packed food, such as pizza and curry, for customers.
All the check-out registers are self-scan with staff only on hand to help pack goods.
Over half the products on sale are own label and the new range includes its own "Big Kahuna" Cabernet Shiraz for $1.99.
Fresh & Easy's official launch on Wednesday night will be attended by Sir Terry Leahy, Tesco's ceo, other key board members and Tim Mason, head of the US operation. Local reports say Arnold Schwarzenegger, the governor of California, is also down to attend.
