US: Over 4,500 of some extremely rare vintages are to be sold off in New York, with well over a million pounds expected to be paid for the wines.
Zachys Wine Auctions is organising the sale of Swedish diplomat Dr Nils Stormby's collection, at Michelin-starred Daniel restaurant on September 28.
The array includes over 70 Chteau d'Yquem vintages, many sealed in their original wooden cases from the property.
There are also five bottles of 1921, ten of 1937 and magnums from 1924, 1945 and 1955. Mouton Rothschild 1949 and 1961 is included in the sale, as well as Chteau Ptrus 1982 and 1990.
According to Zachys International Rare Wine Advisor, David Wainwright, "It's hard to believe a collection of this quality and rarity still exists.
"The wines have been tucked underneath a house in Sweden, temperature and humidity controlled for over 40 years and having never moved an inch. They are in incredible condition."
