Unwins is hosting a series of wine tastings at Birmingham's NEC, in conjunction with the women's magazine Essentials. The show is the first of a series of collaborations planned with the magazine. Women are currently driving a large section of the wine market, as major purchasers over a range of price points,' said Bill Rolfe, group marketing and PR director for Unwins. Traditionally, the high street specialist has attracted male customers, but we are now seeing a shift in this profile as more and more women become "wine confident". They are looking for personal help in selecting wines and have found that the high street store is just the place to find that help,' Rolfe said. Anything we can do to encourage that shift in attitude has to be good for business.'
