Bacardi is to invest more than $250m (122.86m) in Scotch whisky production in a bid to drive global growth for its flagship Dewar's blend.
The Bermuda-based rum giant plans to redevelop an existing site in Parkhead, Glasgow, to support higher inventories of maturing whisky.
The redevelopment will include maturation warehouses, a blending centre, as well as new bottling lines and packing equipment.
The company said it is also close to finalising the purchase of 100-acre site in central Scotland to be developed as a second blending and maturation centre.
The move will help the company meet growing demand in Asia and other emerging markets.
