LVMH reports buoyant trading

Published:  23 July, 2008

Louis Vuitton Mot Hennessy (LVMH) has announced its profits increased 11% to 1,440m (966.5m) for the first half of 2007.

The luxury goods company, whose brands include Mot & Chandon, Veuve Cliquot, Ardbeg whisky and Belvedere vodka, said all business groups saw double digit organic revenue growth, totalling 7.4 billion (5bn).

Bernard Arnault, chairman and CEO of LVMH, said:'These results are even more remarkable given the significant negative impact of exchange rates in the first half of 2007. Numerous product launches, geographic expansion in targeted, high potential markets and growing success with new clients should allow LVMH to continue its progress in the second half of the year in a favourable economic environment."

Its UK new product launches include a 10-year old cask strength Ardbeg whisky in a 4.5 litre bottle, Krug 1996 vintage and Clos du Mesnil 1996.
