Via Ventisquero in Chile is the first winery in the country to offset its CO2 emissions.
The winery has teamed up with UK-based Climate Care, an organisation that helps companies reduce their greenhouse gases and calculates the amount of fossil fuel emissions.
Via Ventisquero export manager Amrico Hernndez said: "The audit on our business activities and emissions related to wine production showed that transportation to the UK released the most CO2 - almost two tons per 40ft container - so this was the first area we targeted."
The winery has vineyards in many of Chile's regions, including the Maipo and Casablanca Valleys, as well as Peralillo and Lolol in Colchagua.
