One year after the Wine Standards Board (WSB) became part of the Food Standards Agency (FSA), it has launched a 12-week public consultation on its enforcement policy.
The document, which can be viewed via the FSA website, gives information on the powers available to inspectors and the way they inspect wineries, as well as inviting comments about the organisation.
Alan Curran, head of the wine standards branch, said: "The consultation exercise offers the opportunity to listen to the views of stakeholders, with the aim of improving our effectiveness and ensuring that inspection and enforcement is consistent, transparent and proportionate."
