NARIOO IS UK ON-TRADE PERSONALITY OF THE YEAR

Eric Narioo of Les Caves de Pyrene has won this year's French Wines UK On-Trade Personality of the Year Award, presented at The French Wines evening at the Delfina Gallery. Runner up to Jolle Marti of The Great Eastern Hotel last year, Narioo was praised for successfully developing and promoting an impressive range of wines from the Southwest of France in the London area'. This year, the runner up prize went to Thierry Thalibon of The Lindsay House, for his passionate support of small French wine-producing regions and the quality of his tutoring and lecturing'. The best UK Product Launch Award was presented to Percy Fox for Piat d'Or; the runner up was Les Producteurs de Mont Tauch for its launch of Les Douze. This marketing prize rewards product launches - or, in the case of Piat d'Or, relaunches - that successfully target the 25-45 age bracket, help to promote a contemporary image for French wines and enhance the quality of French wines'. Presenting the awards, Bertrand Devillard of Antonin Rodet outlined his vision for French wines in the UK, based on the simplification of the offer, the creation of brands and excellent quality'.
