PORTUGUESE TASTING CANCELLED

The Wines of Portugal tastings have been cancelled due to budget cuts. The Glasgow and Leeds tastings on 23 and 24 October are going ahead, but the tastings at Vinopolis on 25 and 30 October are off. Joo Costa of Wines of Portugal told Harpers that the Portuguese Government has cut the budget, so its varietal tasting is now scheduled to be held alongside the annual tasting in April. Cantina Vinopolis' Trevor Gulliver and Claudio Pulze are holding a Portuguese wine dinner showcasing Porto chef Miguel Castro e Silva and a selection of Portuguese wines. Third in a series of dinners, it takes place on 20 November. Tickets cost: 65. Ring 020 7940 8333.
