Islay-based Scotch producer Bowmore is to launch a 30 year-old whisky exclusively for the travel retail market.
The Bowmore 30 Years Old is packaged in a silk-lined gift box, and the silk-screened bottle depicts the Celtic legend of the sea dragon Kranna Dubh', which once inhabited Loch Indaal, overlooked by the distillery.
The company describes the whisky as deep warm copper in colour with beautifully subtle aromas of rich stewed fruits and hints of lighter tropical fruits'.
Brand director Glen Moore added: Travel retail continues to grow as a luxury purchasing environment; customers have time to peruse at their leisure in a relaxed environment.'
Bottled at 43% abv, Bowmore 30 Years Old will retail at 299. Only 1,800 bottles have been produced, and will be available from mid-October.
