Appointments - Who's going where

New marketing director at Maxxium UK
Maxxium UK has appointed Peter Mooney, 37, as marketing director. Mooney, currently international marketing manager for Scottish & Newcastle, replaces former marketing director Huw Pennell, who took on the role of Maxxium UK managing director earlier this year.

Mooney has previously worked for Coca-Cola & Schweppes Beverages, Diageo plc and, most recently, Scottish & Newcastle.

He will lead a 36-strong team and focus and look after a portfolio of premium spirits and Champagnes.

is a respected marketer with considerable sector knowledge gleaned over 16 years.'

Mooney added: I've enjoyed my time at S&N and have had the pleasure of working on some prolific brands with some excellent people. I now look forward to driving further growth for the best portfolio of premium spirits and Champagnes in the business.'

Mooney will be based at Maxxium UK's headquarters in Stirling from 14 August.

Martin Price, who has been acting marketing director since early in the year, has been appointed marketing director for Maxxium Deutschland.

More marketing for Thierry's

Thierry's marketing team has been expanded with the addition of Shona McGill as its new PR manager

Shona, formerly PR excecutive at Somerfield, will be working across both the trade and consumer sectors.

Former PR and events manager Nikki Fletcher will manage Thierry's portfolio of agency brands, focusing on the key French, German and South American brands.

Marketing executive Susannah Perks will now look after the Labour Roi brand, events and website developments.

Cox for HBJ

HBJ Wines & Spirits has appointed Graham Cox as director of national accounts.

Cox joins HBJ Wines & Spirits from Berkmann Wine Cellars, where he spent five years as national account manager

and agency sales manager, overseeing accounts such as Waitrose, Tesco, Majestic and Oddbins. He has also held positions with Percy Fox and Majestic Wine.

David Whan, director of sales for HBJ, said: This appointment coincides with HBJ Wines & Spirits' recent restructure, with the unveiling of a new corporate image, including redesigned logo and website, and a revamped wine portfolio.

Cox brings an excellent track record of building sales within the multiple grocer sector, and he has been appointed to direct increased focus on the off-trade.'

Changes at Hallgarten

Chris Hall's role at Hallgarten has been expanded and will now include responsibility for all PR and event management.

Cliff Nicholson will now concentrate on strategic projects and brand management.
