A Scandinavian has won the Trophe Ruinart 2006 as the best European sommelier for the second time in a row.

Norwegian, Robert Lie, 25, follows Sweden's Andreas Larsson as winner of the biannual competition in 2004. Grard Basset was the last British representative to win in 1996. This year's runners-up were Paolo Basso from Switzerland and Eric Zwiebel from France.
